We are really excited about this combination. We expect mellow, sweet puppies that should be very good for therapy work and obedience. Puppies should have typical English structure with heavy to moderate bone, loads of coat and will be very cream in color.

The first 8 weeks of life for a Desdia puppy.....
All of our dogs are required to obtain hip, heart, eye and elbow clearances before they are considered for a litter. Both males and females must be at least 2 years of age in order to receive these necessary health clearances required by the Golden Retriever Club of America.
Desdia puppies are given the best possible care right from the start! Mom is always given a diet of top quality kibble (such as Canidae or Eagle Pack) mixed with a multi vitamin during pregnancy and then expanded right after delivery to include fresh meats, acidophilus, herbs and a calcium source to aid with milk production.
Our puppies are born in our whelping room right in our home. This room is approx. 12'x14' in size and is located right off of our family room. They are not introduced to the outdoors until almost 5 weeks old. At that time they will have supervised "recesses" outside that will get longer in time with age, but they will still spend the majority of their time in our home.
We begin potty training by introducing our puppies to a "doggy litter box" filled with pine pellets. At 5 - 6 weeks they are then introduced to the doggy door. Although not completely potty trained by 8 weeks old, they understand the basic idea and are completely comfortable with using the doggy door. Puppies are also introduced to crate training.
We have 6 children, adult goldens and a Ragdoll cat in our home. Puppies are introduced slowly and then exposed frequently to each. This insures that our puppies are extremely well socialized to both humans as well as other animals.
Puppies will be temperament tested at 7 weeks old. Although our new pet puppy owners will have the final choice of which puppy they prefer, we do give recommendations as to which puppy we feel fits that particular situation and home. Show pick puppies are chosen as close to 8 weeks as possible. Puppies never leave our home before 8 weeks old.
